Roxboro

As the name implies Roxboro is situated along the Elbow River, 3 kilometres south of the Downtown. It is believed that a whisky trading fort, located within the area of Roxboro, actually preceded Fort Calgary. The community was annexed to the City in 1907 and was developed after 1910. Many of the original homes are still in good condition and the primary concern of the Roxboro Resident's Association is to preserve the historic character of the neighbourhood. In terms of recreation opportunities, Roxboro is located within close proximity to River Park, Stanley Park, and the pathway.
